Discover the Layers of Meaning in God’s Word

Have you ever read a verse you’ve seen a hundred times, only to find it suddenly speaks to you in a new way? That’s how the Bible was designed to work. In Jewish tradition, Scripture is called a pardes—an "orchard" of wisdom to walk through again and again. Pathways Through the Torah helps you slow down, reflect deeply, and rediscover the presence of God hidden in His Word.

The ancient framework—refined for today

This 28-lesson journey uses the historic PARDES method of layered study—honoring its heritage while clarifying the final layer for disciples of Yeshua:

  • P’shat (פְּשָׁט) – the plain, simple meaning

  • Remez (רֶמֶז) – the hinted/prophetic meaning

  • Drash (דְּרַשׁ) – the spirit-led moral application

  • Seter (סֵתֶר) – the sacred hidden place of intimacy with God

We replace Sod with Seter—a thoroughly biblical term (“He who dwells in the shelter of Elyon…” Psalm 91:1 TLV)—to keep the focus on relationship, not esoterica, returning God as the protagonist of every story.

How the study works

Each lesson leads you from understanding to encounter—not just gathering information, but abiding in the Presence (John 15:4–5).

  • Picture – an original illustration from the TLV Biblical Art Collection to open the heart

  • Scripture – a complete TLV passage (presented as narrative, without verse numbers) to read slowly and aloud

  • Four layers × three prompts12 questions per lesson (P’shat → Remez → Drash → Seter) that deepen as you go

  • Journal space – to record insight, prayer, and next steps

Designed for groups first (and great for families), Pathways thrives on “conversational overlap.” When two or three gather to seek ADONAI, discussion becomes a sacred space where Ruach haKodesh brings wisdom, understanding, and revelation.

What you’ll experience

  • A story-driven walk-through Torah—titles begin “God [verb] [object]” (e.g., God Creates Life) to keep your eyes on Him

  • A repeatable method to “suck the marrow” from Scripture—seeing hints of Messiah in the text (e.g., “God will provide the lamb”), drawing moral application, and finally resting in Seter, the sheltering presence of God

  • A shared framework that builds Bible literacy, community conversation, and personal devotion—without adding noise or novelty
