The first Christians were Jews, and Christianity has its roots in the religion of God's chosen and called out people. Jesus's death and resurrection was not the beginning of a new religion but the fulfillment of the covenant God made with his people. Yet most Bible translations sacrifice the deep connection between the Jewish roots of our faith and the grafted-in Gentile branches, using imprecise English terms rather than Hebrew terms that encompass a fuller meaning. The Tree of Life Version (TLV) is a new Bible translation, produced by the Messianic Jewish Family Bible Society, which highlights the rich Hebrew roots of the Christian faith.

Wow, just Wow, Amazing

I'm a Holy Spirit filled Christian. I have visions and dreams too. Well, one night I had a vision. It was a book with a red color. I recognized the texture as the TLV bible I bought. The Holy Spirit said read the parables. I spent all day underlining all the parables. I knew there was a reason I didn't know yet. Next Sunday I was in a group study, and I had to use the parables I'd memorized from the TLV. I own 42 bibles, but the Holy Spirit chose the TLV to use. I'm waiting for a leather TLV now. Good Job.

Great Commentary and Dimensions

The dimensions of this Bible are super close to the thinline edition so if you are worried about thickness, then no worries. It is absolutely comfortable to hold in one’s hand. Also the gold on the cover will not easily rub off because it is a sort of bonded leather overlaid on a flexible board.

Lastly, the commentary on the Psalms are very insightful and well balanced. They include personal testimonies of the commentators that help to relate how a theme in a psalm played out in their lives. The commentary also offers insight into the meaning of the underlying Hebrew.

It is a great beginner’s Bible for anyone wanting to start to dive into the liturgical aspect of Messianic Judaism because in Messianic and Orthodox prayerbooks they use the psalms heavily. But many prayerbooks don’t offer commentary or extra explanations on the psalms one is reading/ praying at certain times of the day. So this is a nice addition to one’s prayer routine.

I like to read psalms 5 and 30 in the morning and then I go to the back and look for additional insight on these.

Overall a great resource to use to enrich prayer life. And the translation does an amazing job on the Scriptures read during a Messianic Synagogue service such as using the term Yom Shabbat in Exodus 20.

A beautiful blessing

I love my bible. Elohim is using this translation to show me new truths and to give me a new passion for his Word. I was a little concerned because I have low vision and thought I might end up needing the large print. But this print is so clear and the pages aren't as thin as some. In short I love this! Shalom shalom and thank you

Disappointed...

I've hesitated to write a review because I was very disappointed in the new version of your bible and sent it back.
I can say that I love the first version, TLV personal large print reference Bible that I received as a birthday gift from a friend in 2018. I use it every day and dearly love it. If I could get a copy of another one of those, I would gladly purchase again. God bless and so sorry I can't give a good review on the new one.

Amazing!

This Bible is honestly amazing! I'm in love with it! I find the Psalms devotions amazing to read and very helpful to get a feel for the relationship that I believe we are to have with Yeshua. Very inspirational, well written, good quality, and all around an amazing Bible!

I got it for my mom and she loves it! She enjoys comparing the Jewish version with her David Jeremiah study Bible
and the way the old testament is formatted. She loves the "something positive" at the end of the old testament. She loves the Psalms devotional, and she loves the dictionary in the back with the Jewish words meaning written in English
